London Gathering - 17th February 2008

Urban Athletics at The London Gathering

The London Gathering 2008 was a big weekend of PK/FR organised by Norwich Parkour. Traceurs and trickers from Norwich and all over joined London groups for the big 2 day London Jam. The arrangement was to meet at London Eye lawns each morning.

On Sunday Brett, Michael & Matteo were the first guys there, but feeling a bit nervous stayed back until more people had arrive. They needn't have worried because it turned out to be a great day. Less about egos and more about learning and being of part of something great. In their own words "It was brilliant - we learnt sooo much. Not just moves, but about what this stuff means to people".

They started out at the London Eye, moved on to the IMAX Cinema and finished up at the Thames where Brett performed his first ever outdoor standing double back flip. Awesome. You can see it here.

Everyone agreed that it was a fantastic day, but it didn't end there. The new stuff they brought back to share with the rest of UA really helped bring the group together.

We met a lot of really great guys - way too many to mention - and we hope me made a good impression. We want to extend our greatest thanks to NRPK for organising it and all the guys who made it a great day. When's the next one?
